Things to consider when finishing your basement.
The cost of finishing your basement depends exactly on what you want to do. A few questions might help us give you an estimate.
- What is the total square footage of the proposed project?
- What exists currently? Just bare concrete walls?
- How many rooms do you plan to put in the basement? What's the size of each?
- How many plumbing fixtures?
- What kind of heating system does your house currently have?
- What level of finish materials are you looking for?
- Are there any extraordinary expenses, such as built-in cabinets, or an egress window.
- How big is the existing house (excluding basement and garage?)
- What do comparable homes in the neighborhood sell for with unfinished basements?
